Family pictures aren’t just for young kids…it’s a more about capturing a moment of time in your family.  This family we took the opportunity to get some shots of their son in his Roseville High School football jersey too.  It’s such an exciting time and I was excited to have the opportunity to capture it.

Here’s some information on Family Portraits…

How I approach sessions – Family portraits are often the best when we don’t try and make everyone look perfect!  I look for moments that fun and are genuine.  Everyone sitting together, laying around laughing or having a tickle fight… Mother and child staring at each other and making each other laugh… I typically always get photos with everyone looking at the camera but I will also do my best to capture some timeless, candid moments of your family.

Where sessions are located – I am available for photography sessions in your home, on location or in my Roseville studio.   My preference is to use natural light for photos so if your home is small or dark please consider the studio as it has beautiful natural light and lots of space.  I am also a big fan of on location sessions and have lists of places we can go.   Your portrait session will last around one hours to allow for an optional clothing change or  a snack breaks for children.  There is no rush and I fully encourage you to have fun and be yourself while I capture your family.

The dreaded…what to wear – I am definitely a blue jeans and white t-shirts kinda girl, but I encourage my clients to wear a variety of clothing with color and accessories.  I do provide some ideas for clothing inspiration if you so shall choose, just ask.  And don’t think this means a trip to the mall (unless it’s a good excuse for you too).  I always tell my clients to start with yourself, find a color in your closet that you love and build your outfit around it.    Textured fabrics like woolly sweaters and jackets work well.   Avoid logos or clothing with distracting patterns.  Have fun with it!

If you have any questions or would like to chat, please contact me and I would love to talk with you.
